Administration
Vesnivka, founded in
1965 by Halyna Kvitka Kondracki, is a women's choir.
Kondracki has been the sole conductor since its inception.
In May 1977, Vesnivka Choir was incorporated and since March 1994,
it has been a registered charity (Registration number
#13819-8171-RT0001).
Membership
There are currently 40
registered members in Vesnivka Choir. Members must adhere
to the established policies regarding rehearsals, performances,
registration fees, choral development, costume and note
maintenance as well as fundraising activities.
Vesnivka Choir is located in Toronto, Canada. Its
official address is 78 Brule Gardens, Toronto, Ontario,
M6S 4J2 Canada. Weekly rehearsals take place at 4 Bellwoods
Avenue in Toronto. The Choir primarily serves the
Ukrainian-Canadian community of Toronto and its surrounding
area, as well as various communities throughout Ontario and
Canada.
Registration
Registration is held
on the first Tuesday of September. The registration fee
for the year is $60.00.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are from
7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. every Tuesday from September to June
at 4 Bellwoods Avenue, St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Board Members
Halyna Kvitka Kondracki
is Founder, Artistic Director and Choral Conductor of Vesnivka Choir. A dynamic choral conductor whose career spans four decades,
Kondracki's passion for choral music and dedication to the
choral tradition has helped develop Vesnivka Choir into an award-winning choir known not only in Toronto, but throughout Canada and Internationally. She is the key driving force behind the success of
Vesnivka. In 2001 Kondracki founded a new male choir, the Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir. She continues to encourage Ukrainian-Canadian composers for more choral pieces for not only women's choirs but also for men's and mixed choirs. She is forever in search of new and traditional Ukrainian choral music and outreaches to other groups and communities to help them further develop choral music. Irka (Irene) Nabereznyj
is the current President of Vesnivka Choir.
She is a long term singing member and coordinates activities in the choir. Irka organizes and facilitates all executive and member meetings and addresses choir issues. As President, she acts as an advisor to the choir conductor on matters of choir performance and commitments. She administers disciplinary action as decided by the decision team and with the
choir conductor. As President, Irka Nabereznyj is very active in all fundraising events and co-ordinates various teams to ensure success within all choir activities. During concerts and various choral activities Irka represents the choir in front of various guests, dignitaries, political figures, religious leaders and all other groups. As President, Irka is also responsible to communicate various issues to the members at each rehearsal and concert.
Nykola (Nick) Parzei
(nykola@vesnivka.com)
is the Administrator / Financial Officer
of Vesnivka Choir since 1986. He is a professional
designated accountant (CMA) and a Certified Credit Professional (CCP) working for a multinational company. In his volunteer role as Administrator/Financial
Officer for Vesnivka Choir, Nykola keeps all financial records, annual financial plans, monthly bookkeeping, all tax filings and administration for the choir. He is responsible for completing government grant and foundation applications and issues tax donation receipts. Nykola keeps records
and reconciles choir member participation in fundraising
activities and their contribution toward the success of the Choir.
Nykola works closely with the Choir Conductor in estabishing solid travel plans for various tours, festivals and competitions to various parts of the world. He ensures all aspects of these trips are properly arranged resulting in successful choral travel. Nykola is also the key liaison for
Vesnivka with other choirs, groups and individuals.
