Sun. Nov. 8, 2009 - 4:00pm CONCERT #1 - A TRIBUTE TO KYRYLO STETSENKO,- A concert celebrating the music of this 20th century Ukrainian composer, whose prolific work encompassed all of the genres of choral music: from sacred to original folk, operas and cantatas, arrangements of folk songs for adult and school choirs and art songs. Stetsenko's are songs were recently recorded and released in Toronot and featured opera singers Pavlo Hunka, Russell Braun and Benjamin Butterfield. The concert programme will include selections of Stetsenko's sacred music and fold song arrangements. Guest artist is Alex Hajek of the Canada Opera Company. Sun Jan 10, 2010, 3:30 pm CONCERT # 2 - UKRAINIAN CHRISTMAS CONCERT Featuring The Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir. This annual traditional Christmas Concert is held in early January as part of the celebrations for Canadians of Ukrainian descent. A thank you reception follows the concert where members of the audience have an opportunity to meet with the choristers as an out-reach program. This years concert will feature the performance of a traditional Ukrainian Christmas pageant. Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd (North of Dundas St. W) Toronto. Sun. Apr. 25, 2010 4:00 pm CONCERT # 3 - DANCE AND ROMANCE, This concert will feature romantic songs, tangos and waltzes celebrating themes of love and romance. The programme will include favourite works of Ukrainian-Canadian composers S. Huminilowycz and J. Vesolowsky, including new arrrangements of popular dance songs. Guest performers are Big Band Orpheum. Ticket price includes hors d'oeuvres and wine.
