Historical Highlights

1965 Vesnivka Girls Choir is founded by Halyna Kvitka Kondracka; its members are students of St. Nicholas Ukrainian School. Vesnivka thereafter expands to accept members from other Ukrainian schools.
1969 Vesnivka performs in Rome, Italy for the consecration of St. Sophia, the first Ukrainian Cathedral in Rome.
1972 Vesnivka stages two performances of a Children's Operetta "Koza Dereza".
1973 Vesnivka performs at the 25th Anniversary of the consecration of Bishop Isidore Borecky and the 25th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy in Toronto.
1974 Vesnivka performs at the Second World Congress of Free Ukrainians, held in Toronto.
1975 Vesnivka participates in the unveiling of the statue of Lesia Ukrainka in High Park, Toronto.
1977 Vesnivka travels to Rome, Italy to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Ordination of Cardinal Josef Slypyj and the 85th Birthday of Cardinal Slypyj.
1978 Vesnivka performs in Carnegie Hall, New York at the Third World Congress of Free Ukrainians.
1988 Vesnivka participates in the Millennium of Ukrainian Christianity. Celebration include a Papal Mass in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City, as well as concerts in Royal Albert Hall in London, in the Vatican, Carnegie Hall in New York and Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.
1989 Vesnivka participates in the International Choral Festival held in Toronto.
1990 Vesnivka plays host to "Dudaryk" Boy's Choir from Ukraine during their Toronto engagement.
1991 Vesnivka participates in concerts celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Canada.
1992 Vesnivka performs at the opening of the Ukrainian World Congress held at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
1993 Vesnivka participates in a concert held at Maple Leaf Gardens to commemorate 60 years since the 1933 Famine in Ukraine.
1993 Guest Choir with Toronto's "Camarata Singers".
1995 Vesnivka plays host to the Utrecht Byzantine Koors from Holland for their Canadian tour as part of Vesnivka's 30th Anniversary Celebration.
1996 Christmas Concert with Burlaka Ukrainian Men's Choir.
1997 Vesnivka sings the very first Eastern Rite Liturgy at St. Pius X Church in St. John's, Newfoundland, as part of the "Cabot 500" festivities.
1997 Vesnivka performs with the Elmer Iseler Singers for a Christmas concert in Toronto.
1998 Vesnivka holds a concert with soloist Alexis Kochan in Toronto.
2000 Vesnivka performs with Toronto Children's Chorus - Jean Ashworth Bartle (founder/music director)in Toronto.
2000 Vesnivka performs with the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus in Detriot MI, Chicago IL., Monroe MI, USA and Toronto, Canada.
2001 Vesnivka performs with The Amadeus Choir - Lydia Adams, conductor at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.
2001 Vesnivka performs with 300-person Expect the World Choir at 'Expect the World 2008, International Olympic Day Gala Concert' with Toronto Symphony Orchestra held at the Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.
2002 Vesnivka issues first subscription concert series within Toronto area.
2002 Vesnivka participates in the International Choral Festival held in Toronto.
2003 Vesnivka participates in the International Music Festival held in Cantonigros, Spain.
2004 Vesnivka Choir, Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir and Menno Singers of Kitchener sing Roman Hurko's Requiem Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Famine-Genocide of 1933 in Ukraine.
2004 Vesnivka Choir perform Concert in Toronto -"Tribute to Mykola Lysenko". Special guest includes international opera star, Pavlo Hunka.
2005 Vesnivka Choir celebrates it's 40th Anniversary with Gala banquet and Anniversary concert "Women in Song".
2006 In commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Chornobyl Disaster, Vesnivka participates in a memorial concert at Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto. Concert features Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir, Elmer Iseler Singers, Amadeus Choir, Orpheus Choir, the Gryphon Trio and international opera star Pavlo Hunka.
2007 Vesnivka Choir travels to Poland to perform concerts throughout Poland for the Ukrainian communities and outreach its music to new audiences.
2008 75th Anniversary of the Famine-Genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. Vesnivka Choir, Toronto Ukrainian Male Chamber Choir, Gryphon Trio, Elmer Iseler Singers and Musicus Bortnianskii performed at Runnymede United Church Toronto.
2009 Vesnivka Choir and Kyiv Chamber Choir with guest performers Elmer Iseler Singers and St. Michael's Choir performed at Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto.
