This folk song, depicting an idyllic village life, was written by Ukrainian composer, Stanyslav Lyudkevich, who was also a teacher, theorist and musical activist. As inspiration, many Ukrainian composers have drawn on the vast repertoire of Ukrainian traditional folk music, much of which has been passed down orally through generations.
